You should not fertilize your plants in the winter!

Plants need these months to rest and maintain themselves, as the days are shorter and there is less light for them to “eat”.  The best time to fertilize your plants are in the spring and mid summer months.  During this time, the plants are in their growth stages and the days are longer, allowing the plants to soak in more sunlight.  The fertilizer will provide the growing plants the proper nutrients for their growing stages.  You can find fertilizer at any garden store, and we recommend buying a fertilizer that is well balanced (a 20-20-20 mix is best-this means an even balance of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium).

Keep your plants away from drafty windows and stay warm this month!
